Creating Multi-column Pages in Joomla

What you find out fairly quickly is that working on Joomla Aticles is similar to creating a Word document: its easy to create a page where everything goes across the whole width of the page, but more difficult to create a multi-column layout.

The easiest way to create more complex pages in Joomla is to create what is called a table first. Tables are containers that can have multiple columns and/or rows, into which you can place content - such as text and images. The table controls the layout of the webpage based on how wide or high you make the columns and/or rows.

How to Create a Table
Just Click the Add/Insert Table icon in the editor.

Your editor may have buttons arranged differently. Our example is JCE Editor but Joomla's default installed editor is TinyMCE. Not all versions of TinyMCE will show the Table icon.
