Joomla Menus
Your Joomla website menu is located under "Menus" on the Main menu bar.

Actually you will probably have a number of menus listed since more than one are created when Joomla is installed on your website. If you only have one menu active, the others will be unused.

Some sites use more than one menu. By clicking on each, you'll be able to see which one is your main menu - probably Main Menu.

If you want to add to, edit or move menu items, find the menu you need and open it by double clicking on its name. For a full explanation of working with the menu, click the Help button in the top right corner of the menu page.

Menu Styling
The actual styling for your main menu may be controlled by a component or module such as SWMenuFree, which styles a menu as a drop down or flyout menu. SWMenuFree is a Component and is therefore located on the Component Menu. Illustrated diagrams there will show you how to change your menu styling. You don't actually create the menu in SWMenuFree, just style it. You can see which menu SWMenuFree controls when you open the component. In the illustration below, SWMenuFree styles a menu called Top Menu.

Other menus, such as a left side menu, may just be styled by the Joomla template design for your site like the menu shown below:
